(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); MY sniping guide. i would appreciate if you read this as i spent a while on it. i know its long but i used another guide to help me.

General Tips:

1. Sound is your friend. Turn up your speakers, headphones etc. You will hear the footsteps of folks not using Ninja and SitRep from pretty far away. It could buy you a couple seconds. Most dont use those perks.

2. Claymores are nice, but being able to simply sprint past them and the fact that most people dont place them in an optimal position makes them less effective.

I can get past claymores 99% of the time. Use them wisely......

- Remeber that they take between 1.0 and 1.5 seconds to detonate after actuation, so place them on a positional "corridor" that persons approaching are most likely to take.

- Dont set them "right" inside a door to the side. Place them at a diagonal so they are still in the path of travel after actuation. You would be surprised how far away they will trip when set properly.

- Dont count on a kill every time. It is better as a warning device to buy you some time than to kill your enemy. If you hear it go off, get up and get defensive.

3. Keep your scope zoomed in a couple seconds after the shot to prevent the KillCam from divulging your position, unless of course your being rushed, etc and need to get off some quick shots.

4. Move your position after two or three kills MAX. Any more than that, and they will certainly hunt you down. Maybe less.

5. Use perks that support Sniper. for example something like scavenger is handy for your claymores and if you need more bullets but dont use something like scrambler which does not benefit you at all, especially as a sniper

6. Try not to be sprinting all over the map. Stealth visually and audibly are your greatest weapons. Unless of course you are an expert at quick scoping (me) Smile^

7. Stance. Not everyone starts being able to no-scope shoot, or quick scope shots. Remeber, the lower you go, the more stable your shot and accuracy. Prone is best, crouch is ok, standing is last. Get low, stay outta sight. That is the objective.

8. Terrain. Dont sit at the top of every hill or in obvious places. The best snipers will locate themselves where they wont be noticed casually. You are wearing a ghilli suit to blend in. Use bushes and tall grass. Use low points as well as high. Use corpses. When laying nice and still, you look like one. If you have Cold Blooded Pro, they wont get a cross hair or name from you even when aiming at you. YOU WILL LOOK DEAD, so dont move! Many folks will simply lay still and look for pixel movement. If you move, you are a target.

9. Breathe. Hold your breath prior to the shot, but don't sit with it that way all the time. It takes much longer to hold your breath after exhausting it than it does to simply let go and hold it again. Its an instant vs. several seconds. Look, look, aim/hold, shoot. Practice will make it simple to zoom/hold breath at same time.

sniping boosts you accuracy, mainly one hit kills, your kdr most of the time as you stay away from the danger but kill still kill the danger and it is also very fun if you quick scope.

Sniper Weapons

Remember
1) Silencer reduces damage by 20 on all Sniper Rifles.
2) Damage multipliers vary per gun, and per body part.
3) Stopping Power Perk multiplies total damage by 1.4.
4) Using ACOG reduces viewing range, and you CANNOT hold your breath.

You must login or register to view this content.

Weapon Damage x Damage Mulitplier x Stopping Power = Total Damage. 100 for a kill)

There is no best gun for sniping. It is ALL personal preference just like with any other weapon class. It depends on what type of rifle fits your style. i personally recommend the intervention.

Intervention- Many love its damage and accuracy. I love bolt-action. Shares slight damage boost with .50 over the other two for lower body shots.
Barrett .50- Heaviest hitting semi auto. Recoil is abit much. Good mag size. Distinct sound. Whenever I hear it, I start hunting. :P
WA2000- Ugly but effective. Has the 1.5 chest multiplier like the .50 but much less recoil as a semi auto. Good for quick repetetive shots.
M21 EBR- Nice smooth semi auto, but lacks hit power on some body parts. If you are a consummate head hitter, you got no issues. Larger mag like the .50

i hate the lat two snipers and personally think they are for sniper noobs but they can be good if you never sniped before.

Secondary Weapons
This is totally up to you. I only pull this when being bushwhacked or travelling the map. Some like Stingers, but i dont like to give myself away from LONG distance. I like Machine Pistols and Shottys for close up love. pp2000 or rafica are my favourites but up to you, also 1887 Akimbo is a nice secondary option. :P Honestly though, any that you are comfortable with will do.

Equipment
First option: Claymore. See General Note #2.
Second option: Tactical Insertion, allows you to stay in your camping spot.
Third option: C4 and Semtex. say there is a spot on the map that hurts my favorite spot, I use C4 as a deterrent to sniping there. Semtex will also save lives against riot shielders. True story.

Special Nades
They dont have as much use in a true sniper kit vs. a hybrid, but any could help you get out of a sticky situation. Smoke can be deployed very close to you to provide a quick out or as a distraction, whereas Stun and Flash can pin down rushing enemy out for the knife/close range kill.
smoke will be handy for thermal users but otherwise i say flash are best as they can leave the guy completely dazed and sometimes the stuns don't work as good as you would like them to.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for some perks.

First Tier
Marathon- Running and jumping. Great stuff but not for Sniper. unless your a quick scoper
Sleight of Hand- Faster reloading, Sleight of Hand Pro: Faster AimDownSights :: Good and a fav of many. especially quickscopers
Scavenger-Full resupply from dead enemies, Scavenger Pro: Spawn with extra ammo. Replaces Bandolier. Fair.
Bling- 2 primary weapon attachments, Bling Pro: 2 secondary weapon attachments.
One Man Army- Swap classes at any time One Man Army Pro: Faster class swap. Set up properly you wont need to switch.

Second Tier
Stopping Power- Increased bullet damage. Stopping Power Pro: Increased damage versus vehicles (AC-130, Helicopter, Pave Low); MAKES ALL SNIPERS ONE SHOT KILL TO HEAD AND CHEST, well most of the time, hit markers are annoying! (except M21, only 1.1 mod for chest). This is not the same as body and limbs, they are diff zones. upper chest and head only. My #1 PERK for sniper kits.
Lightweight- Move faster, Lightweight Pro: Quick aim after sprinting. Again, good but not for sniper.
Hardline- Killstreaks require 1 less kill, Hardline Pro: Death streaks require 1 less death. Fair, but SP is more important.
Cold-Blooded- Makes the user invisible to enemy UAV's, enemy helicopters and enemy controlled killstreaks(such as AC-130's), Cold-blooded Pro: No red crosshair or name when targeted. Fair, but I prefer 1 hit kill.
Danger Close- Increase explosive damage like Sonic Boom and Fireworks. Danger Close Pro: Increased explosive damage from killstreaks. NO WAY.

Third Tier
Commando- Increased melee lunge distance, Commando Pro: No fall damage taken. Good, but SA is better.
Steady Aim- Increased hip-fire accuracy, Steady Aim Pro: Replaces Iron Lungs. Hold breath longer. Nuff said unless you never hardscope and you only quick scope.
Scrambler- Jams the enemy radar. Scrambler Pro: Delay enemy claymores. Lets people know your close. Skip it.
Ninja- Invisible to the Heartbeat Sensor, Ninja Pro: Significantly quieter footsteps. Your laying down. ok for snd.
SitRep- Detect enemy explosives and Tactical Insertion, SitRep Pro: Hear enemy footsteps better. Footsteps are nice, but SA is better.
Last Stand- Fall to the ground, and try to kill any enemies. Last Stand Pro: Use your equipment in last stand. SA is simply better.

Quick scoping:

Button Layout and Sensitivity:

It would be a good idea to use 7+ sensitivity if you are planning to snipe as this will allow you to move and turn faster. Also it would be a good idea to use the tactical layout if you are not already as this allows drop shotting and can help in case you need to pull a fast knife or crouch in certain situations. i always find a higher sensitivity makes quick scoping easier.

The main tip is to practice and be confident. i play search and destroy and i go around quick scoping, just think of everyones reactions if you pull ouf the best quick scope ever Smile

my set up: (for snd)
intervention
pp2000 or rafica (whatever you want)
claymore
flash
SOH pro
Stopping power pro
steady aim pro

set up for other long modes:
intervention
pp2000 or rafica (what ever you want)
claymore
flash
Scavenger or SOH
stopping power
steady aim

EXTRA TIPS/STRATEGIES:

You are just getting shooting, but you have Thermal Vision on your sniper. take Cover and throw a smoke bomb. Use Thermal Vision and hide in the smoke. Since the Thermal Vision will see behind the smoke, use it to hide, and then snipe with it. If your enemy is spraying, get out of the spot, but don't leave, hide instead. Wait for your enemy to come and look for you, when you see him shank him or shoot him with your secondary or if your a pro.. quick scope him.

always try to stay in cover. if someone shoots at you. RUN and come out when you think he is least expecting it. or you could just carry on running and go to a different sniping spot

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

killstreaks:

depends on how you want to snipe. you know the killstreaks by know so i don't need to type all of them up.

in search and destroy i tend to use uav, predator missile and harrier strike but it depends on how good you are. if you think you are alright i would use uav, care package and predator missile as you are likely to get a juicy care package now and then. use these small killlstreaks in snd as its harder to get a killstreak going in snd.

for longer game modes, you could always go for the nuke Happy harrier, chopper gunner and nuke. with sniping you cant go wrong, as long as you stay out of the danger zone but stay aiming in a heavily used place. i got my nukes by mainly sniping, 7 kills and then the killstreaks got me the nuke.
if your good but dont want the nuke, i would say use predator missile, harrier and chopper gunner but if you are amazing try harrier, pave low and chooper gunner. this always gets me a lot of kills and boosts you kdr at the same time.

Thanks for reading (if you did) hope this helped. i will add to the guide if anything extra crops up. Happy
