I'm only a good player, but win most games of FFA, unless there are a couple of nuke boosters in the game. In this guide I'll cover perks, weapon choice, killstreaks and general advice. This is useful for anyone ranging from a beginner to an experienced player.

GENERAL FREE-FOR-ALL TIPS:

USE THE SILENCER ATTACHMENT FOR ALL GUNS...

This is detailed in the weapon choice, which is written below, but I thought I should highlight this here. Using a silencer is key, as the moment you shoot in FFA without a silencer you will have six players running directly towards you as they see the little red dot in their radar.

CHANGE TO THE TACTICAL BUTTON SETUP...

This is vital for FFA. As highlighted later in this guide, winning the one-on-ones in FFA is vital. Changing to the tactical button set up and then mastering the drop shot will help you to win these.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO CAMP...

The spawning system in Free-For-All is atrocious, camping in FFA is generally not frowned upon by the call of duty community because of this.

BUILD UP KILLSTREAKS...

The killstreaks in MW2 are overpowered, so building up killstreaks is vital if you are to succeed. How do you do this? Follow the instructions in this guide.

BUY A HEADSET...

Helps you to listen to others footsteps. Credit goes to 'iLoGiKz'.

RECOMMENDED WEAPON CHOICE:

For the most part, weapon choice is based on personal preference. But i'm going to detail the best weapon choices (based on my experience) from each category for free-for-all.

Scavenger (Pro) is necessary if you wish to build up killstreaks in FFA, and building up a killstreaks is a must if you wish to succeed.

Pro Ability: Increased bullet damage vs. helicopters and aircrafts.


For the most part, FFA is a game which consists of a large number of one-on-one battles, and your job should be to win as many as these as possible if you wish to win games. Stopping Power is a perk which will help you to win these one-on-one battles, and if your opponent is not using Stopping Power, you have an immediate advantage over them.

Ability: Invisible to heartbeat sensors.

Pro Ability: Allows you to move silently.

More and more players use headshots on both Playstation consoles and Xbox 360s now. If you are not using Ninja Pro, they will easily be able to hunt you down in a game of Free-for-all.

RECOMMENDED KILLSTREAKS:

Level 1: (You struggle to build up killstreaks over 3 on a consistent basis.)

UAV - 3
CARE PACKAGE - 4
PREDATOR MISSLE - 5

Description: The UAV is the lowest attainable killstreak on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Having called in your UAV, I would recommend sitting yourself down in a corner and waiting for your opponents to walk past you so you can get an easy kill. DO NOT call in your care package immediately, wait until you get another kill for your predator missle. Then call them both in.

This deploys a UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) that shows enemies on the radar for 30 seconds. Multiple UAVs (from the same team) makes the refresh rate faster.

Airdrops a random killstreak or ammo. If you can't get to the high level killstreaks on your own, use this. Just throw the red signal flare and wait for the helicopter to drop the package. The package can be stolen by anyone, even by your team mates, so be careful!

Allows you to remote control a Predator Missile to the ground. Your screen will change to an overhead view and you have approximately 5 seconds to control the missile to your target. You can give the missile a boost to make it go down faster.

Level 2: (You struggle to build up killstreaks over 5 on a consistent basis, but can achieve 3 killstreaks.)

HARRIER STRIKE

Description: If would classify yourself as 'level 2', you can relatively easily get three killstreaks, so you shouldn't struggle to get a UAV. After getting your UAV, I would recommend sitting in a corner and waiting for your enemies to run past you so you can get an easy kill. repeat this once more for your predator missile. Your predator missile should get you one more kill. Repeat the above process once more (sitting in the corner) to get your seventh kill. Call in the harrier strike.

Description: Build up your five killstreak. Call in the predator missile, this should get you one more kill. Then, as suggested in both level 1 and 2, sit in a corner and wait for your enemies to walk past you for an easy kill. Repeat this until you get your 7 killstreak. Call in your harrier strike and sit in the same corner until it gets you your pavelow.

Calls in a heavily armored attack helicopter (Sikorsky MH-53 Pave Low) to patrol the map for 60 seconds. It works just like the Attack Helicopter, but it has twice the armor and two turrets.

I'm sorry this is a great guide n'all but only 1 tip really works for people and its not mentioned here but people,buy Turtle Beach P21's or Triton Ax80's,you will win EVERY FFA with these,i can even hear people using Ninja Pro.

You should put more emphasis on buying a headset

And ninja should be mandatory not recommended
