The first thing I would like to cover is what gun to use, For example maps like Terminal, are suited for any type of gun play, you may find your self using a Tar-21 or even running around with your M1014,
Appose to maps like Wasteland, where thermal,assualt rifles and snipers, is used frequently by most teams; should limit you to the type of guns you should be using, guns like the MP5 and P90 arent suited well for this map and
Might have you struggling to keep your sights on a long distance enemy. Here are some examples of some guns that you can use on anytype of map. (note these are guns a majority of guns used in search)

The second thing I would like to cover planting and defusing in S&. In search there are to designated bomb sites to plant at(offense)
Players on the other team (Defending) is to eliminate the other players while keeping the 2 bomb sites safe. If the one of the two sites have a bomb planted on there, A defuse symbol will pop up, indicating to defuse.
This is where tips come in, when planting (Offense) plant the bomb at a spot where you can spot the bomb easily at. (EX: Plant bomb closer to the door so you can camp the bomb) And for defense, be sure to check the
surrounding area of the bomb because there almost 99.9% that the bomb planter at the defenders of the planter are camping there. To eliminate this threat, plant claymores or C4 before the bomb is planted to prevent any rush plants.
Since you are defending be sure to find a place where no one can see you at. Look for new places to hide and make sure they arent common.

Third thing I would like to cover is attachments. Everybody has opinions, you could disagree or agree. But during search you see a variety of attatchments from HBS to Extended Mags.

Akimbo[Secondary]

Fmj

Silencer

Holographic

Extended Mags

And

Grenade Launcher.

All of these can benefit you and your team if you use them right, you can use ACOG to pick off enemies at long distance, or Use the launcher to get spawnkills.
