Let me put this straight.

1) Elevators can't be patched, the reason you can do elevators is directly to do the with the GAME ENGINE. Notice how theres elevators on Cod4 Cod5 ( mostly W@W engine taken from Cod4 ) and Cod6 which uses Cod4 game engine.

2) IW have a lot more to be bothered about than fixing elevators, because hardly anyone does them in games, and even if you do, people just watch kill cam and snipe you after a 30 second boner spree.

But if this is true... The only thing i can think of is.

1) You guys are too shit at elevators to know if its patched or not.

2) They managed to put a simple fix to elevators when constructing the new Stimulus map pack, which we will probably find a way round eventually.


Can anyone do a 100% test on the elevators on Xbox. by this i mean, trying them in split screen, trying them in private match ( old maps ) and then also trying them on stimulus.

Also can someone try the riot shield way of doing it. You basically go to a prone/crouch elevator and equip riot shield, get in position, swop to secondary weapon and go prone, instead of using Crouch button to try to hit the spot, use Swop weapon to go to your riot shield, this forces you up and you can do elevators this way, that might get round this so called "Nudge" that knocks people out.

They ARE patched, when you hit the spot you get pushed back slightly and don't go up, both on NEW AND OLD maps. I found a spot on bailout by ranger spawn in SnD, Pushes you back when you hit it. The Karachi one aswell. (easy one)

I dont know about the riot shield way of doing it but im good at elevators and im still doing them on live. @AKASNM - You probably suck at elevators, i myself am still doing elevators, and no not some easy prone ones, im doing drop and jump elevators IN-GAME. So stfu about "Oh they are patched"

Crouch and prone are patched I believe, drop and jump I don't think are patched.

the only way i can see them fixing the elevator is by fixing the player model.. it would be to much work to fix every elevator.. just a thought.. not sure though cause im no programmer..

Yeah the elevators are definitely patched. Some wall breaches got patched too. They used the same method to patch them as the people who made Socom Fireteam Bravo 2 did on the psp. You used to have to get parallel to the wall before you could go into it. Now if you are perfectly parallel to the wall it pushes you out from the wall just a little bit so you won't be able to get inside anymore. Same thing on CoD. You get pushed away from the wall a little bit when you hit the sweet spot.

You think no one tested it and we all just started saying they were patched?
Yeah elevators are really hard to patch, but they can block you from them easy. That's what they did.
You can't "suck" at elevators you either know how or you don't.

they aren't patched on ps3. they DO get patch on ps3 when the map pack comes out though.

i know they havent been patched yet...im jus saying why do they have to patch it?
