07-08-2010, 09:28 AM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Spoke to a Hunter Soruce last night he gave me some new hints and tips and also he told me what he has been up to in the last few days. 1. He told me that you are wasting your time trying to edit the PKG or the Patch_mp on your PC, he also said i need to have 2 Playstaions 1 with Linux installed and 1 on 3.40. Once you have modded the file on the OtherOS create a back up of the Drive then Trasfer it over to your Other Playstation with 3.40. I am not sure how many of use still have OtherOS on a Old playstation. I know for a fact the my Brother Playstation has never been updated for like over 1 year as he dose not have internet so i am going to start working on what Hunter has told me.

Hope this helps the noobs understand a bit more.

Thanks

Climbing up the ladder
Nope doesn't help. It's just a vague and useless as all the other info on this board.

Why is everyone saying that?

Even if you hack the patch, and install it on the PS3 you'll get a error cause the checksums aren't the same.
Even if the checksums are right you'll get a black/freezing screen.

Conclusion: Hacking the patch doesn't work on 3.40. You'll need 2 PS3, as the topic starter said.

Actually, I've found out how hunter did all this.

I'll give you a hint since I won't release it.

Has nothing to do with decrypting the HDD.
It's over lan or internet, like he said.

I'd be willing to bet that hunters just trying to steer us in the wrong direction. I used to do it all the time back when I used to hack ps2.

I know for a fact, you have to have 2 ps3, a ps3 with 3.15 must have linux, you still have to decrypt the hdd using linux on 3.15, once you decypt the hdd, you need extract the patch file from the hdd and decompress it, once decompressed, you can open it in ffviewer, you still have to delete the first 12bytes of the header, or else it wont open. Edit the patch to your choice, replace the header and compress it back to its original byte size, if its to big you will get errors. Place the edited patch back onto a memory stick, open up linux in 3.15 and replace.

Now, you must not.. back it up, you have to use Data Tranfer Utility to tranfer all the data from 3.15 to 3.40.

I know this for a fact because mid 2009, hunter was experimenting with the Waw patch, I asked him how he got the patch file and he said he used linux to extract the data,

You can also use SAK "Swiss Army Knife" to extract data from the ps3.

This is just a summary, of true fact.

Another theory, ive asked hunter if he could send me his modded patch as PKG file, and to see if I can download it via PROXY.
