Make what you will of it, not too sure myself. Only thing I am sure of is that if something like this goes ahead, it will be the end of Call of Duty.

if you think about it, how much time do you get out of call of duty? most games last about 10-15 hours, but mw2 multiplayer alone can last you 30 days plus playtime. even if it lasts you 2 days thats alot more than most games.

If you take into account the price of the game, i paid £22 for mw2 and i have 24 days played, thats less than £1 per 24 hours of gameplay, in other words extremely cheap.

however if they did make a subscription service the map packs must be free.

You're missing the point. It's a subscription for online gameplay on-top of XBL, which is for the exact same thing.

This is already known to be coming in the future for CoD in 2011. It was released in a memo for the annual stockholder's meeting. Kotick is a greedy ****, who will in the end kill off all of Activision's most profitable ip's. User's on xbox live would have to pay Gold + CoD, now thats getting to be out of hand. The only way they can justify a subscription is with real low cost for xbox user's and ton's of free maps. Knowing Kotick the words low and free aren't going to happen, so he will just continuely **** CoD player's until he kills the franchise. My advice, move on, find a new fps game and play that, stop buying Activision games, because I can deal with the $15 map packs with 5 maps each, but **** paying for a subscription to a sub standard game full of glitches and hacks, and lack of dedicated servers. They made 1.2 billion dollars from MW2 alone, and they can't spend 10 million for server support for the user's, get real. The video may be fake, but it will happen, and all I know is I won't be part of it.

I would buy it actually, i had an XBOX and i had no problem paying for a subscription then i got lazy. Now PS3 is free so its like the same thing as paying for gold . Just that when im boosting with my 2 PS3's ill have to pay for both -.-
