Post: Effective SnD Rushing Guide

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Whats The Point In This Thread?

I am going to show you some of my favourite rushing routes on each map. The red routes are when you are the bomb planters and the green routes are when you are the defenders. The routes labeled with the number '1' are my personal preference and '2' is my back-up or 'secondary route' Winky Winky.

I will also give some tips in order to become an accomplished rusher.

Sorry but I wont be able to include the Stimulus or Resurgence maps as I cant find any overhead views for them :n:.

What Is Rushing And Why Should You Rush?

Rushing is a style that will give you an advantage both speed-wise and positionally. It will also allow you to catch the opposing team by surprise.

Since I began rushing my win/loss ratio has risen from around 0.8 up to 1.2 and my K/D also stays between a steady range of 1.95 to 2.00.

When you are rushing you will always need to keep an eye out for players on the opposing team who stand in your way.

How Can You Be A Smart Rusher?

After the first round your opponents will most likely try and camp in a spot along your path (hidden) so that you run straight into it, therefore you should always take an alternate route in the second round. You can also stray slightly off your original route and wait for THEM to run into a spot.

What Is Required?

In order to rush in SnD you will need two key perks; Marathon and Lightweight. Your 3rd perk is personal preference, however I prefer to use Ninja as you can sneak up behind your enemies. The pro versions of Marathon and Lightweight will help ALOT as in some maps you will need to climb over objects quickly to get to your location and the shortened aiming time is also a bonus.

This is what my preferred class set-up looks like (and I recommend you to use it too):

Primary Weapon: UMP45 Silenced
Secondary Weapon: SPAS-12 Grip
Special Grenades: Flash x2
Equipment: Claymore
Perk 1: Marathon
Perk 2: Lightweight
Perk 3: Ninja
Deathstreak: Anything

Killstreak 1: UAV
Killstreak 2: Predator Missile
Killstreak 3: Harriers

This thread did take a lot of time and effort to make so please show some appreciation.

Afghan

Attacking - Route 1 will allow you to hide behind crates and aim at the bunker for any oncoming opponents. If you take route 2 then you will be running up into the front of where you plant the bomb. This can potentially leave you in a better position as you can pick off snipers but this is riskier.

Defending - Route 1 when defending will also leave you behind crates waiting for the enemy. Route 2 will enable you to flank the enemy and come up behind them. Many snipers often position themselves on top of the back part of the aeroplane making them easy targets.

Derail

Attacking - Often people think that rushing up through the middle building is the best option. However, running around the side and up through the back entrance can bring you up behind the enemy. Route 2 is a basic route around the perimeter where you will usually go unseen.

Defending - When defending it is wise to go up through the nearest building entrance and place a claymore there, then run to the other stairs and protect them. You can also take the alternate route around the edge of the perimeter.

Estate

Attacking - Catch the enemy by surprise by running directly towards the house. Run down into the slight ditch and up and around the side so that you are underneath the windows (its best to crouch here). You can often pick off snipers who lurk infront of the entrance to the house. You can also run around the back of the map and up the stairs, hide behind the truck (prone) and wait for the enemy.

Defending - If you take route 1 you can stay prone and wait for anyone to come up the log stairs. Take route 2 and you can place a claymore in the ditch and then wait next to the wall. Route 3 is basically the same as route 2 when attacking.

[multipage=Favela, Highrise and Invasion]

Favela

Attacking - Route one will bring you up onto the rooftops. When you get into the grassy patch you need to jump over onto the middle roof and drop down through the trapdoor. There are usually 1 or 2 inside the front room. Route 2 is just an alternate route (not very good).

Defending - Route 1 is my personal favourite as you can almost ALWAYS catch people off guard here, however it is pretty risky as there may be someone already on the rooftops and they may spot you. You can also use this route when attacking but it is VERY risky. Route 2 is just another alternate route bringing you onto the rooftops.

Highrise

Attacking - If you decide to take route 1 then you will need to smash the window, run down into the underground part and then climb up the ladder to the bomb spot. Then you can jump over back into the underground part. Most of the time you can catch enemys from behind as they are also using the underground channel. If you take route 2 then you will drop down onto a small building platform and you can use the small ledge to work your way onto the other side of the map (you need to climb back up using another building platform).

Defending - Route 1 will bring you back down into the underground passage, however instead of taking one of the pathways you should place a claymore covering one passage and then wait and aim at the other passage. Sometimes people will even try to shoot the claymore so you can run around and come up behind them. Route 2 will bring you up onto the central platform where the helicopter is and you can jump back down off from there onto the other side.

Invasion

Attacking - The route is pretty direct on the diagram. Alot of defenders use this building and you can come up behind them. Route 2 is just another route which I rarely use.

Defending - Pretty much the same idea as before except you are on the defending side. Route 2 is the same again, pretty much as it is when attacking.

[multipage=Karachi, Quarry and Rundown]

Karachi

Attacking - The first route will leave you in the rooftops on the opposing side. I think the route is pretty self explanitory on the map. It should leave you right infront of/behind the enemy snipers. The other route will bring you infront of a window. You can wait there for people to come around the corner. Easy pickings.

Defending - Climb up the ladder and run along the rooftops again. Where there is a long balcony you will need to run along the edge of it in order to jump over the gap onto the next building. With the second route you can jump off the rooftop onto the awning and up into a small blown out part of the building.

Quarry

Attacking - Both routes work just as well as each other IMO, although I usually go with 1 for some reason. Route 1 will bring you straight into the heart of the other team but its pretty risky (if you make it you can come up behind the other team on both sides). If you take the other option then you need to climb up onto the rocks.

Defending - The first route is pretty much the same way as you go when youre attacking, however youll need to run into the small room first to make sure that the coast is clear (to give yourself some protection). The second route is just a spot where you can watch over the bomb but you should also put a claymore between you and the little tunnel going to B.

Rundown

You must login or register to view this content.

Attacking - The first route will allow you to come up behind enemys from wherever you want. There are usually snipers hiding in the buildings around that area and you can take them by surprise. If you take the other route (second one) then you will need to run to the bridge, jump down, and run towards the stairs. If you do this quick enough you can get up into the buildings without anyone seeing you.

Defending - Following the first route will bring you over the bridge. At the end of the bridge there is a small patch of grass at the edge of the bridge between it and the building. You can go prone in that patch and wait for the enemy team to come. The other route is much like that when attacking except in the opposite direction.

[multipage=Scrapyard, Skidrow and Sub Base]

Scrapyard

Attacking - Route 1 is the riskier of the two but you can once again flank and come up behind the other team. You are likely to run into one or two players coming this way so be prepared. The second route is a little bit safer (even though its through the middle). People rarely go through here and even if they do you will take them by surprise.

Defending - The first route is again riskier but allows you to flank and come up behind the other team. If you choose the second route then its wise to place a claymore infront of little door to where the green line stops.

Skidrow

Attacking - Run along the route and then jump up the crates onto the front of the building (marathon pro saves alot of time here). You can run along the corridor and out. You will almost always find catch people off guard this way. The second route is VERY risky as there is 3 direction in which people can shoot at you. Your reactions must be good.

Defending - Almost the same way as the first route when attacking except you'll be running into the room and aiming out of the window. Taking the second route will mean that you have to run directly into the main building and up the stairs, turn right and wait there for people to come through the tunnel.

Sub Base

Attacking - Route 1 is probably my favourite rushing route in all of the maps. If you make it there in time you can go prone in the corner and its almost GARUNTEED that you will kill at LEAST 2 of the other team unless youre unbelievably slow. Route 2 is not a great route as people rarely come through here, nevertheless Ive got quite a few kills this way. Stand on top of the crates and only your head will be showing (very hard to see).

Defending - Youll be heading towards the same building as route 1 when attacking except you wont actually go into the building, youll need to wait at the door. Aim through the centre straight at the other door. Ive caught 4 of the other team at the same time doing this before. With the 2nd route you can climb up on top of the buildings before anyone has the chance to stop you.

[multipage=Terminal, Underpass and Wasteland]

Terminal

You must login or register to view this content.

Attacking - Just follow the route to where it says. Youll need to be though, as people will be coming up the stairs (as shown in the defending route #2). You can take cover between the two bins. Route 2 will bring you to near enough the same place but you will be coming up behind the other team. This is risky however, as the other team may be in the building next to where youll be running.

Defending - There is only one word for this route.. AMAZING. There may be someone behind the desk in the centre, thats something youll need to look out for. With this method you can come up behind the other team and I have killed the WHOLE opposing team in one round using this method. I usually turn right first but its personal preference. The second route is just an alternate route (diagram pretty much explains itself).

Underpass

You must login or register to view this content.

Attacking - Route 1 if you are going for kills. You can come up behind the enemy. There may be people in your path on the way. This is a great way to kill a few snipers. Route 2 if you are planning on a quick bomb plant. You can also use this method to come up behind the enemy but it is alot harder.

Defending - You will need to be careful not to get caught in the sniper crossfire if you choose to take route 1. Once you get to the end of the route, climb up onto the boxes and then onto the roofs of the shanty houses. Theres usually people inside these and the gaps in the roofs can come in handy. Only take route 2 if you are planning on defending the bomb. You can sit on top of the crates here and kill anybody who is going for a quick bomb plant.

Wasteland

You must login or register to view this content.

Attacking - Flank the opposition by running around the outside. You can kill plenty of snipers using this method. This second route is less risky but still allows you to cut through the opposition (as long as you get there first).

Defending - Hardly anyone goes down through the centre when defending so more often than not you WILL NOT find anyone down here. However, this means that you can then turn right and come up behind any snipers on the other team. The second route is pretty much the reverse of when you are attacking.

good shit buddy. took sometime. wish i could rep you more.
i rush all the time and im still gonna read all of it to see if anything i might not already know. but on side note. and my experience is 32days played. i use exactly the same minus lightweight. the ump is light in itself so you really dont need the lightweight. i use hardline. try it out and give me feed back

I used to use cold-blooded but since I switched to Lightweight Ive been getting kills alot easier. I prefer the pro perk (quicker aiming whilst sprinting) to the normal perk (faster sprinting), gets you alot more kills when youre under pressure which is the reason I use it. Never really used Hardline in any game modes but I guess the extra UAVs would be a big help in SnD :p.

I wasnt too sure what the maximum image size limit was on the forum so I just resized them all to 400x400, I was gonna do 500x500 but they looked a bit too big Eek.
