and when I decrypted the HDD i got the syntax error too but never used the godlymods patch
and now really i cant find the dummy data can someone tell me how to find it? every sector is different that before

hdd method is not the way. i spent months on it with brendanj9554 and he took it a bit further on low f/w. u cannot even hack mw2 on low f/w because of the default_mp.self...

there is a more plausible way that we found and is on the right track. and there is also the ps jailbreak method. which is good if u dont need to change scripts...

please i hope the hdd decryption theories dont start again....

If you haven't noticed the Jailbreak turns your ps3 into a "dev mode" bypassing the default_mp... if we where not to have the Jailbreak, technically there would be no ps3 lobbies.

i have a dev mode enabled ps3 used a patch a while back on it i cant bypass the syntax error mate with my old patch i created using iHC but that was waay 2 old

iHC is xbox only xD.... if you create a patch using iHC it makes heards only for 360... that is defiantly one of your problems lol

ya i know but everyone used the xBox patches for the ps3 :S will anyway i will get a sata cable somehow as last time my uncle provided me w/ one

Good luck... 3.41/3.42 are really hard to decrypt... and another thing .PKGs are Region locked... via Param.SFO... I haven't been able to do much lately but, I will be looking through some coding and testing exploits etc... and happy decrypting.

I really don't see a point in hacking mw2 the way hunter and unkn0wn did it anymore. You all got your challenge lobbies, now just look forward to black ops.

figuring out how to hack mw2 the way hunter and unkn0wn did it is so that ther maybe a way to hack black ops the same way, thats another reason why they never released a tut.
