I believe so. I haven't done it, but people are posting that it is possible and you don't lose the patch you have chosen. Just make sure when you udpate you have the patch on.

You can bypass 3.50 in your on 3.42 if that's what your asking ?

Alright I assumed you meant that if you owned a jailbroken ps3 at 3.42 if you updated to 3.50 you would still have your patch.

Let me rephrase my answer.

Challenge lobbies are still possible on FW3.50. You though, cannot host, because you have an unjailbroken ps3 on FW3.42, and you need a ps3 at 3.41 for PSJB.
