haha wildly i could not find it anywhere! search engines are all about what you words you use to search, not what you search for.. i've never seen anywhere that u have to put it in that file. I just figured that you just had to put it on a usb and plug it in so i was like WTF when it didn't work ha. thanks!

well if you are going to update it like that, do not have your playstation connected to the net....
i did it with a usb stick and the ps3 cant tell that its not the latest firmware because its not connected to the internet...
but then i broke my maximus psgroove board >

i just did it with it connected to the internet.. worked fine; i double checked and it said it's currently on 3.41. so alls i have to do is wait for the dam thing to come in the mail!
