It works online but its tricky....i dont think the patch has force host...so pretty much wat i did was got like 7-8 people in my party, then i started up a private match, i click Private Match in the admin menu twice so it was disabled, then i ended the game, then it put us into a public lobby, after it has done that, as long as it doesnt go on and merge lobbies, then you will still be host and your CL will be going on in a public lobby.
