You need a jailbroken ps3, ps3 FTP server, and a ftp client on your computer like FIleZilla.

I heard someone did it without the ftp server app thingy on a regulat ps3? Cant u just use a proxy to install custom mw2 patches?

u can use comgenie’s awesome filemanager - u just need a usb stick/external hdd with your files on it

u need a signed mw2 patch if u use proxy :(
