(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Just wondering cuz I was trying to join my friends game and he had fake maps on so It wouldn't let me join and said "could not find zone oilrig.ff"

So is it possible to create custom maps?

Sorry for noob question...

doubt it, the best you could probably do is spawn carepackages for houses, but the "could not find zone oilrig.ff" is I think just an unreleased map and one that IW decided not to put in at the last minute. Same with the shipment and another one, but I forgotten which one xD

If people had the necessary knowledge, Then yes a custom map can be made, It wouldn't work on the disc version of the game though but instead a backup, But this would very un-logical simply because anyone you wanted to use these "new" maps would need the same backup as you. So yes it can be done BUT very unlikely.

Well, it actually is possible. If you think about it, how does Infinity Ward make new map packs? Well, if you did exactly that, rigorous testing, and make sure you did everything right like how IW does it, in theory you probably could.

But I will say, I may have minimal knowledge in coding and things like this, but I know it would take a very, very long time to make.

Actually it's mp_oilrig.ff which is the multiplayer one you cannot find. Because I have been looking through my MW2 Disc and have found oilrig.ff which is the special ops and Campaign Version.

Does this mean we could play shipment on MW2? Happy That would be awesome.

nah its not possible, Infinity Ward never even released the SDK
which from what i've heard is a new engine. Nobody exept the people with that SDK no how the maps/meshes/xmodels/ fast files gets compiled in. This is probably the reason why they didnt release because its a newer engine...

Don't think so, I don't think there is a shipment.ff in the MW2 disc, so it wouldn't work :/

Shame, I wonder if it would be possible to transfer from CoD 4...
