How do I become the host and use the hacks in a public multiplayer game (PS3)?

In order to have your hacks online, you have to be host. Host is usually chosen by the person with best connection but not always. You can increase your chances of being host by selecting "Force Host" in your patch.(If it has it)

Yeah you can go into private match, turn forced host on, and you will usually get host.
