What exactly are you asking here? How to switch a patch or how to switch a patch after the update if you updated? Please elaborate a little and I would be more that happy to try & help.

you will have your patch
BUT
when you start mw2 your prompted to download a new patch(pretty sure its the same one but named differently so it would override the modded patch)

I played mw2(just now) while on 3.55, I didn't get asked to get a new patch(mw2)
