Sorry in advance if it's in the wrong section. I don't believe this has been posted yet, but if it has, feel free to close this thread.

Basically, what's going to happen, is a new MW2 patch will be released, erasing the hacks from people's systems. (Better late than never, I guess)

The patch has already been written (this has been confirmed by fourzerotwo), they're just in the final stages of tweaking it.

Apart from the fact that it will be erasing the hacks, the other main issues it will be addressing will be the Fuel rock glitch, slightly decreasing Commando range, nerfing the Tar slightly, and possibly fixing the spawns a bit. To quote fourzerotwo, "OMA will not be tweaked. We've fought that fight and lost."

A quick bio on who fourzerotwo is, for those of you who don't know:

Robert Bowling, also known by his username fourzerotwo or 402, is Infinity Ward's Creative Strategist, formerly Community Manager. Any official information regarding Infinity Ward's games in the Call of Duty franchise is released through him.

We should expect to see this patch out within the next few weeks.. but who knows, if the suddenness of 3.56 OFW was anything to go by, it could be by the end of the week

I'm kind of glad that they're releasing a patch. Challenge lobbies were fun and all, but when I want to play a legit match now, I have to force host myself to become the host. I think challenge lobbies should remain in private matches, even though I had a LOT of fun doing shit in public matches. :y:

puting a file called patch.mp into the ps3 with an ftp isnt hacking if that was the case iv bin hacking since nitendo

Ps3 and mw2 will always be hacked, when it comes a new fw someone find a new way to jailbreak, and they will hack games, like mw2,

finally, they patch it. mw2 has been completly un-playable since cfw was released...

I kinda miss playing online without hackers... Good old times when my only complaints were the infamous commando enormous knife lunge and the tubers (and much more)! lol

I do have a modded patch, but i only host CL's in private games, i don't ruin the other players' experience like some dumbasses do. (A psn "friend" of mine hosts CL's in publlic matches and deranks whoever he feels like deranking.. what a jerk. lol)

So are they fixing leaderboards then?

Won't they just update there playlists to ignore the irregular DVARS? like they did on xbox 360?
