hunter used hdd dycryption, theunkn0wn modded the fastfile and figured out the flags. then lied about it. there are other methods. like using a warm nand image and switching while ps3 is running (using infectus)

i have used lots of methods, but th best by far is infectus. but high risk of bricking your ps3 on install,
