NO to all of your questions above. You'll need to data transfer in order to play on your 3.72 PS3. The other option is to get online with your 3.72 PS3 and ask someone who has the infection to infect you too.

No. In order to get an infection or give an infection, you or someone that you know is required to already have the infection. (I hope that made sense.)

yes you can In your patch make an infection with the dvar(s) you want. then just make and lan party lobby with the infection. stay in the lobby, then eject your disc. Put it in your OFW ps3, go to lan party and find the lobby and get the infection. done
