Post: What is given to all the lobby and what is given to just yourself. dvars

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi Guys

I can't seem to find a definitive list of what DVARS get given to the whole lobby and what doesn't

For example say I am not host and I have the following:

set extraStopping(set perk_armorPiercingDamage "60") and run it from the menu

of having it set as a DVAR at the bottom of my menu

perk_armorPiercingDamage "60"

Does this make any difference in terms of who gets this. (I realise and know how to use the speciality perks) just using this as an example.I am presuming when I am host they will probably get this.

Or do the "cg" commands make a difference eg:

set seeThrough "toogle cg_drawThroughWalls 0 1;toggle cg_enemyNameFadeIn 100;toogle cg_enemyNameFadeOut 1000"

or would in DVARS section make a difference
set cg_drawThroughWalls 0 1
set cg_enemyNameFadeIn 100
set cg_enemyNameFadeOut 1000

also is this any different from above, only difference being no "set". I have seen both used not sure which is best.
cg_drawThroughWalls 0 1
cg_enemyNameFadeIn 100
cg_enemyNameFadeOut 1000

I have tested many things but can't come to exactly how it works on who gets what when I set things in a patch. Also what is the best test environment, currently being using split screen for a lot of the stuff, and private/live for things where it's vital. I realise live is ultimately the best but what do other patch writers use most for testing.

Any help and advice would be great. Thanks guys.

PS I am a web developer for a living so am no noob at coding just a noob when it comes to patch writing for MW2 but learning fast. No need to worry don't plan on realising anything, already far to many patches out there that offer much the same thing.
