what are you editing in the .zone?

Well I'm pretty sure that if it's NOT from the same patch, it will replace it with with the patch that the .zone is from. If you keep getting errors, and you don't know why it could be these possibilities:
1) You have exceeded the byte amount (Example: From: 12345 To: 123456)
2) You have shortened the byte amount (Example: From: 123456 To: 12345)

If it's none of those try using BucShotz's PS3 FF Viewer and using the .DAT file.

What exactly were you replacing? Some things I've found that if you actually "type" over it, it will give you the black screen or not load. I had a problem with removing Unknown CMD. I typed it exactly as it's supposed to be, but it gave me the black screen. I had to copy and paste over it :fa:

Are you using a 1.11 patch or 1.12/1.13? Because I used 1.12 and I always got black screens, so then I tried 1.11 and it worked okay.

i tried 2 diffrent 1.11 and 1 1.12 and cant get it to work :/

Yeah, it gives me a black screen when I try to get rid of "unknown cmd", but when I edit the maps and menu and stuff, it works fine.

Try using Buc Shot'z PS3 FF Viewer. If you don't know how to do that: Open the patch, it will extract a .dat file. Open the .dat file in Hx Edit.
