Some interesting details from a Game Informer article reveals that not all missions in the new game mode in Modern Warfare 2, Special Ops Mode, will be timed (complete in fastest time possible) like Mile High Club from the end of Call of Duty 4.

Game Informer spent time with Activision at Gamescom and got to speak about Special Ops Mode. Nazi Zombie fans may still get their fix of killing waves of enemies, but don’t expect to see a zombie in sight… that’s for sure!

I was under the impression that all the missions would be timed, like MHC, but as you can see this won’t be the case. The statement above means that there could very well be a survival mission (similar to zombie mode but without zombies), or a terrorist hunt mission like Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Infinity Ward have included a snowmobile race scenario in Special Ops Mode so I’m sure a survival mission isn’t out of the question! Considering Special Ops Mode will “rival the Campaign in length” IW will need to include many different scenarios.

Great news in my opinion. Lots of different side games, not just get to point B as-soon-as-possible.

This is great news, as GC had disappointed me. And yeah Arabs running at you screaming in their hellish way would be epic XD

That would be awesome, one of the things I loved the most in WaW is the Zombie mode (Der Riese in particular with the pack-a-punch and all), so anything similar to that would be a welcome surprise
