(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Okay, so I'm a little confused on this. I'm about to purchase a jailbroken PS3 from this guy, and I wanted to know everything about hosting challenge lobbies. I have some knowledge on doing this, but I'm still quite confused since the old ways of hosting vanished. I know I need FileZila (I prefer using it), blackb0x, a patch, and data transfer. My questions on this are:

  1. Do I need a 4.10/4.11 spoofer before data transfering?
  2. How do I change patches after the proccess?
  3. To host, will I need to bypass my own lobbies, or can I just turn PS3 on, start MW2, and start hosting?
  4. What do I need to delete/add in the FileZile program (folders, files, etc.)?
  5. After the patch is in FileZila, how do I exit the program?
  6. During the data transfer, what exactly will be copied over to the 4.10 PS3?

I know... There are a bunch of questions up there, but I really need to know this. I somewhat forgot how to use FileZila, and I know that if a program is removed from there, I could screw the PS3 up, so please clear that up a bit. Also, I want to know how long the data transfer will take and if it will copy everything from the jailbroken PS3 to the 4.10 (will it copy all the files like blackb0x, comgenie's file manager, and/or the games that are already installed on the hard drive) Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong during the data transfer and I could just copy over the MW2 folder?

If you can host it yourself and you've done this before, would you please explain with as many details as possible? Explain exactly what you do, where you go, and how you exit your programs.
One more thing, what is the best patch out there? Winky Winky

1. No just data transfer from 3.55 to 4.11.
2.To change patches do the what you did before.
3.You could host 1.11(Bypass) or 1.13(Online)
4.If you bypass you delete both the "DEFAULT_". (Only your doing 1.13)
5.Just close the window.
6.Everything that is on. (Music, users and the game data utilities.) Its basic the other PlayStation.
The time it takes to data transfer depends on how much stuff if you have on it. Mine only takes a couple of minutes.
Best patches: CoD4: x_Davftvader_x's new. World@war : Purple kush. Mw2:Bypass:NBKv3.55.1. 1.13Gaspbamasu's smart patch.Needa

I'm no 1337 HAXOR but I'll give these questions a shot, if I get something, correct me :p

1. As far as I know, I don't think you need one but I could be wrong.

2. All you do is go on your 3.55 and transfer another patch, from your computer over to your Game Dir. You could buy extra hard drives to put different patches on each and then just put the hard drive into the PS3.

3. This is what I think; There are lobbies on the latest update (1.13), but those aren't as complicated and fun as the ones on 1.11, for 1.11 you need to bypass.

4. Not gonna explain it all here, basically you just connect Filezilla and Blackbox FTP wirelessly :p Then, you can see all the files on your PS3, so you find the MW2 section and copy the patch over.

5. You can leave Filezilla open, you just quit the game like normal on Blackbox FTP.

6. For this I don't know :( I would presume game saves and stuff like that, not movies and picutres and stuff like that. But you're better off finding someone to answer this.

  1. Do I need a 4.10/4.11 spoofer before data transfering?
You only need a spoofer to data transfer from your 4.11 PS3 to your 3.55 PS3. I recommend doing this when you get your 3.55 because when you data transfer from your 3.55 to your 4.11 PS3, everything on your 4.11 PS3 gets erased and replaced with the stuff on your 3.55 PS3. If you data transfer from your 4.11 to your 3.55 once, then whenever you data transfer back (from your 3.55 to your 4.11) you will have your account on your PS3 right after you data transfer, instead of doing it every time you data transfer You must login or register to view this content. Just download whatever CFW version you have. I recommend Kmeaw, but people have their own opinions.

  2. How do I change patches after the proccess?
If you want to change patches, you will have to data transfer again, which is a pain in the ass. I recommend testing out patches on your 3.55 until you find the one you like the most.

  3. To host, will I need to bypass my own lobbies, or can I just turn PS3 on, start MW2, and start hosting?
First of all, here is what a 1.11 patch looks like and some of the capabilities - You must login or register to view this content.
Here is what a 1.13 patch looks like - You must login or register to view this content.
For Call of Duty 4 and Call of Duty 5, you can just start up normally. For MW2, it depends if you use a 1.11 patch or a 1.13 patch. The difference between them are that for 1.11 patches, you would have to bypass (or delete a file and it will automatically bypass you - You must login or register to view this content.) And for 1.13 patches, you can just go on the game and connect to everyone, but Infinity Ward released a patch, so the menus aren't as good (they are good, but not as good as the 1.11 menus) I would recommend using a 1.11 patch if your friends can bypass, but if they can't, then use a 1.13 patch.

  4. What do I need to delete/add in the FileZile program (folders, files, etc.)?
Well, you install blackb0x on your 3.55 PS3 and start it up and then on your PC, in the top of FileZilla you will see a box that says "Host:". You enter the IP address it says on your PS3 and then you will be connected and can add/delete/replace files on your PS3 from your PC. On the right side, there will be a box and it will have your PS3's folders in it. Double-click dev_hdd0, then double-click game, then double-click BLUS30377 (the MW2 update folder), then double-click USRDIR, and inside there, you will see the patch_mp.ff (non-modded). You replace that with the patch_mp.ff you have downloaded and then you will have a modded patch on.

  5. After the patch is in FileZila, how do I exit the program?
On your PS3, the screen will most likely be black. Just click a button until you can see the red writing, and then click X to exit blackb0x. On your PC, just X out FileZilla.

  6. During the data transfer, what exactly will be copied over to the 4.10 PS3?
Like I said above, everything will be deleted on your 4.11 PS3 and will be replaced with the files from your 3.55 PS3. So I recommend data transferring from your 4.11 PS3 to your 3.55 PS3 before you do anything. It will help you in the long run, because if you don't do that, you will have to make all your users again and download all your stuff again. Before you data transfer from your 4.11 to your 3.55 PS3, you should delete the stuff you don't really need, like music, videos, demos, games you downloaded from the PS Store, updates for other games that take up alot of space, etc.

Well, I hope I helped. If you have any other questions just quote me and ask them. Happy

If you read the OP, he says he prefers using FileZilla, which means he prefers using blackb0x. Smile
