I have the same problem! Iv tried renaming my USB to dev_usb000 iv tried getting rid of .cfg and iv put the USB in both slots of my ps3. But when i put it in the left slot(its lying down btw) it freezes for a second then un freezes but in the right slot it doesnt do that? can someone help me please?
