If you know how to edit patches can you help me?

I wanna start editing patches because I don't wanna have to rely on other people to do it for me, I hate feeling like I'm bothering people so I'd just like to know how to do it myself.

Right now what I need help with doing is adding some infections to a patch and changing the name so some perks could work.

What do I need to get started? Yesturday I tried downloading a fastfile program but no patch wouldn't open;(

By the way I'm running on windows 7.

Any reply would be appreciated.

First is what do you want too make 1.11 or 1.14 mod menu's, what you want too add in it, and more

Well just a 1.14 menu, I think most of the 1.11 menus are awesome but with 1.14 there's special stuff that I'd like to have, like infections for Uav/AA/1 shot, just regular UAV, Spam x) & a cfg infection.
