Duh. If it was a nuke, your squad (and everyone in that level) would have died. And it killed all the power, which is what an EMP does. I knew, the first time I beat the level that it was an EMP.

technically it is a nuke, if a nuke explodes in the atmosphere it cause an EMP

Yeah because it wouldn't make sense if it wasn't a nuke because an EMP wouldn't blow the space station to bits.
