yeah its been like that so people can get outrageous kills.

Stuff you get from the drop doesn't add on to your killstreak unlocks.
Lets say you have Predator missile for a 5 killstreak. If you get an AC130 in a drop, get 10 kills, you still wouldn't get that predator missile.

You have to *EARN* the kills. You can't get anything dropped form the sky from a care package. If you get a Chopper gunner and ended up stealing it from a care-package and you have harrier et as killstreak 7, you won't get it, because you need to have the specific killstreak on your chosen 3.

killstreaks only count to your killstreak if you used them in the lifetime that you got them in, and if they arent from a care package

air drops do not count towards your killstreak you are on
