In game lobby >> Game setup >> Change spectator mode to FREE.

Start game and go to spectator. Fly around the map and just simply go out of it.

There are no barriers, etc.

Have fun exploring.

The only problem there is I've never played COD4 and didn't know it was there. Also, I couldn't come (still cant) to a comprehension as to why IW would want someone spectating to the very edge of the map. They spent a lot of time making invisible barriers to stop you from jumping on top of roofs, why not make efforts to stop players from spectating out of maps.

I noticed when playing if you don't have the settings I have in place, the spectator camera just stays in place unavailable to move. That's the main reason I figured this was a bypass.

My capture card just broke and this was recorded off webcam.

Now this is the best one so far hate wasting time on elevators since I only want to look around.

I found your post useful I never knew that & I have played every cod just never spectated before as im sure many haven't so this is useful.

I agree,it should be closed as it not useful and is old. BUT you didn't know about this so I won't hate on you and I suggest others don't. LOL.

Its not a glitch its an option. It helps you to see what is solid & what is not.

lol @ Glitchking. and they want ppl to spectate because they sometimes put easter eggs outside the map, like Alex Royce putting his name on both cod4:MW and MW2

even if its a option many people didnt have the mind to actually do it so it shouldnt be closed

you can do that in call of duty 4 and 5 so nothing new or anything cool to me lol
