This may sound dumb but what happens when you get to lvl 70 and you unlock the Prestige mode.
Do you lose all your equipment (i.e guns and attachments that you've unlocked) and have to start again ?
I and my son have reached lvl 70 but are unsure wheather to accept the prestige mode or not. What is different about it. What does all this stuff on here mean about 7th , 8th , 9th prestige etc ????:confused:
I keep reading about hacks for this game but what actually are they and are they any use or is it just so that you can do things faster etc ???
Sorry for the silly questions but any help appreciated please.:confused:

I take it you're new to the call of duty series. Prestige pretty much resets everything apart from you're titles and icons. For going prestige you get a few extra challenges and a different symbol one your name that will stay with you until you prestige again. There are 10 prestiges. It's just a way of keeping the game entertain for two years and not two weeks. The prestige hack just takes you to the final prestige straight away. It's worth going through if you have plenty of time to play and will keep playing for a few years. Welcome to the boards BTW, feel free to ask anything on here if you ain't sure. Most of us are pretty forgiving for silly questions from new players usually.

Yes my son and I are new to playing MW online as our old router was rubbish and we couldn't play online although we have played the COD series before.
I take it then that prestige is just like starting as a new player for the first time and you start at lvl 1 on 1st prestige get to lvl 70 and then go on to 2nd prestige and so on etc.
I think that from what I've read here that hacking is just to get you through these levels faster and higher up the leaderboards. Am I right there ????? We only play for fun not worried about our score
One more thing I've read is about patches ???? Are these the updates that you usually get when you start the game as in (you need to update your software to version xxxxxx) and are they automatically downloaded or do you have to get them manually ?????

Updates are all done at the start of the game automatically. As for hacks, most of them are just to get you up the leaderboard faster. You get the odd other one like having three weapons which is useful but generally they're not worth messing with because Bill Gates will be on your arse. Unless you're on a PS3 then it's all gravy baby.
