Just to clear some things up. The rumor about the new momentum system for MW2 is fake. Here is an article from InfinityWard addressing this issue.

A fake article about some kind of Momentum System has been going all around the internet... Rumor smashing time!
It has been online for a while now, but the article spread like cancer. We really don't understand why people start these kind of rumors, and why everyone would believe such outrageous changes.
To continue the story, divisionbyzorry has posted a tweet that says the Momentum System is fake:

So apparently I've started a fantastic #MW2 rumor. For the record: the Momentum System is not real! Would be nice tho.

As you can read in the original story ยป, the Momentum System was to replace the complete killstreak system. The UAV, Sentry Guns, Helicopters etc would be rewarded by completing objectives and playing like a team. After you would be killed, the Momentum Meter would not reset to zero (like killstreaks do after you die) but completing objectives would keep adding to the meter.
Besides these personal Momentum, there would be a team Momentum which would swing back and forth as the match progresses. Once one team would dominate the other, the Tactical Nuke would be called in. As the Tactical Nuke would no longer be an individual reward, it could only be called in through a team effort.
Again, these are all ideas of a Momentum System that will not be implemented to MW2.
