Mountain Dew Partners With Modern Warfare 3 For Double XP Promotion

Partnering a video game launch with a Mountain Dew promotion seems like a crazy demographic crossover, but that's a risk the soft drink company is willing to take. Fans of the upcoming shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will benefit from the promotion in the form of double XP.

“Our fans know that when DEW does something, we go big – and there is no bigger entertainment property than Call of Duty, so we are thrilled to partner with Activision to launch the newest editions of these two iconic brands," Said Brett O'Brien, Mountain Dew's vice president of marketing. "Moreover, with this partnership we get to make sure that Mountain Dew fuels both the fans and their Call of Duty gameplay while they play Modern Warfare 3.”

Specially-marked packages of the soft drink will feature codes that enables this double XP time. This promotion starts in October, which should give gamers time to stock up on codes before the game launches in early November.
