Can someone confirm whether the Unlock Gear reward in the prestige shop unlocks the 'Gear' chosen for the prestige you're currently on or forever?

Yeah, I'm hoping it's throughout.
I'm pretty confused though as in a video Robert Bowling said 'to unlock one item from custom class that you can carry though the rest of the prestige level'

It was a reply to 'say I have an ACR lv 40 and I prestige and use the unlock gear option. At lv 1 of the next prestige, will I have an ACR lv 40?'

Also, you can't use unlock gear until you've prestiged once
Here's a quote from him 'No, because while the prestige shop is open from day 1, the unlock gear reward isn't unlocked until first prestige.'
Here's what is avaiable from as soon as we get MW3! 'Yes. Extra Custom Classes. Double XP. Double Weapon XP. The Regular Package, are all available on day 1 in the Prestige Shop.'

i cant remember where but i did hear that unlock gear will stay unlocked throughout your prestiges, i either heard it from the mw3 stream or woodysgamertag youtube vids

My first 2-3tokens (from the 4 I get for prestiging on each previous COD) are going on double xp, then once I prestige I'll get unlock gear for whichever gun I prefer to use and then I'll use double weapon xp

personally i wouldnt get double xp as it only lasts for 2hours id go with the classes or challenges so the challenges can help you when you get to higher ranks

I'm thinking about getting my copy from Game for the 4hours double XP! Also, I'm picking up one for a mate so I'll rob his double xp voucher to and hope I can redeem two haha!
The global launch for MW3 is at 00:00 8th November (GMT)! That's when I'll be getting my copy and I hope the leaderboards are reset haha.

i got the same from game dont you only get the 4 hours xp if you pre order it online ? i may be wrong as thats all ive done
