Noobtubes could yield you a Nuke by sitting in the back of a map firing in the air with unlimited tubes w/OMA.
Akimbo FMGs are only good at close range and for really good players/bad enemies at medium range. There should be a distinction between cheap and "overpowered". I don't even use Akimbo FMGs because they aren't realible from any other range but close. However, people need to stop with these "overpowered" arguments every game. An MP7/PP90M1/P90 with rapid fire could shit on an Akimbo FMG user upclose.
Point is OP or not,a gun isn't going to make players any better. OMA/Noobtubing with Danger Close is totally different since you don't even have to actually aim and shoot at a person. You could literally launch the shit in the air, at a wall, in a room or spawn tube.
Distinction between cheap and overpowered? Really lol? Cheap IMPLIES that it's overpowered, by definition, relative to the set of "balanced guns". Or else, why would you call it cheap? Even if cheap didn't imply something is OP, why would "cheap" be any better or worse than "overpowered"? Because it's "easy" to use? Hard to die? Because it's only a "little tiny bit more advantageous, not totally ridiculous!"? They all reach toward the same thing. To achieve balance, the words cheap AND overpowered should both be eliminated from the descriptions of all guns.
And I'm not sure of your last point. Sure, it won't "make anyone better", but it will give them an inherent advantage over someone else using a "balanced" weapon, which has a somewhat similar effect of "getting better". Not the same, but who cares? With the akimbos you don't necessarily have to "aim" at the person. You could have sit rep on, no steady aim, and kill someone who's only just barely in the vicinity of your overtly large reticule. No SMG does that with the kill speed of akimbos, and that's apparent to many. I compared it to OMA/Noob tubes because it essentially does the SAME thing, that being lowering the amount of skill input to achieve the same result as something else. It's retarded, and like a cherry on top, doesn't even belong in the lore of the game. Not even the biggest ****wad Navy SEAL runs around with akimbo bull shit.
Btw, as you said - akimbos are a secondary weapon. So it's not like someone can't run around with a Type 95 or Striker with damage perk (or without, lawl) and use akimbo secondaries, too. Isn't the point of a secondary to be a secondary, not a primary? Of course, there can't be a mass discrepancy between primary and secondary, but some of it totally crosses that line.
EDIT: And just a personal anecdote: I played against a guy on Dome today in Domination (just me solo with five noobs on my team) using an UMP with Stinger secondary. I scored about 4900 points, won the game handily, basically by myself, got way more kills than he did, more captures, more kills and less deaths. Why did I have a better KD? Because I'm better than he is. But the 3-4 times that he did manage to kill me, he only did so through using a Striker + damage attachment or akimbos. Killed me INSIDE the dome while he was just at the ENTRANCE of C. Shortly after that, I watched another killkam at the same area. This time, I had my back turned killing people coming from A. He took out his akimbos and, once again, killed me just outside the ENTRANCE of C. I was inside the dome.
Afterward, after I talked a little shit, I heard him telling someone else in the lobby about how pissed off people were getting with the akimbos. We then played on the same team for a couple games, and he asked me why I didn't use the Striker. I told him these exact words, "I don't use guns like that." You know what he said? He laughed and told me he wouldn't use them while he was in a lobby with me, because they were cheap, and he only uses them to piss people off. Because he KNOWS they're OP. I asked him about that time he killed me with the Striker from about 25 meters away. He again laughed, and said he couldn't believe it.
That's why so many people use it. They know it's cheap; they know the gun gives them an advantage other people not using those weapons have; they KNOW it's unfair. But it gives them control over people. It's all psychological. Yeah, that's a broad statement, but it's true.
It's why the gaming community sucks most of the time.
