This would save people alot of money and time, then going out and buying PVR's. I know this is probably going to be a straight no answer, but just thought I would ask. Happy

I'm pretty sure the videos of recent games and clips aren't stored on your hard drive, are they not stored on a server for you to playback and for IW to monitor games ? If they where on your hard drive I wouldn't have thought IW would be able to access your own personal hard drive without your permission.

So the problem would be getting access to where ever they are stored.

The videos are indeed store on the server and not on your own system the only way I can think of you showing off your gameplay is either by using call of duty elite and linking a you tube I'd to it and uploading them to that, I know a few people who have done this but it only give you snipets not a full game. You could get a blitz box and play in hd and record at 720 and there pritty cheap

Hdpvr's are nice pieces of kit but in all honesty it depends what you want it for I got one for gaming and creating montages and gb proof. I've had it for 4 months and uploaded nothing lol I never find the time to edit it or do anything with the raw footage.

You guys above are wrong about it not being stored on your HDD. Why don't you take a look at your Xbox save data and you will see game recording saves.
IVe tried to open it on PC but no luck, would be good if we could access it somehow

Yeah, it would be pretty awesome. Only problem is, all the programs like Modio and such don't show those files when you explore your device. And if even if they did, someone would have to make a program of some sort to convert the files. Would be alot of work. :(

The games are infact saved on the HDD, but thier 13MB or so, so IMO its just like trackbacks from the game, and the game regenerates it when you click play, hence why it renders it for upload.

According to other post the games are on your hardrive you cant just acces them
but wouldnt it be easier if you render parts of the game (30 secs each)
and when it is done download them all from youtube and
put them together in one video
This process is long and time wasting, I know some people did this in Black Ops
and had worst resolution then an easycap.

You should give it a go because now the videos render in HD atleast(only on xbox for now :( )
So try it out.
