I couldn't even tell you how many times this has happened to me. I usually don't get very close in infected, but it happens to me all the time in kill confirmed. I'd suggest not actually "going for MOABs," just play normally and eventually you'll get one.

Yeah I never really do go into a game thinking "I'm going to get a MOAB this game" but as soon as I realize I'm getting damn close I get really anxious and then fail miserably :p
