I recently began using this like a week or so ago and I must say my opinion on it has changed a little. I've earned only 30 because after the first week out it wasn't worth getting such a high streak and then getting shot down. Especially since you get more consistent kills with Reapers even.

I don't think it's too high of a pointstreak although moving it down to 14 instead of 17 would've been nice. I don't mind it being difficult to get, biggest issue is it's fairly easy to take down. And as any Assault killstreak user would know it's so annoying to get a high streak and get it taken down before it reaches the map. Saddest part is it's usually a guy who's like 7-21 doing so, which is insult to injury. And don't get me started on EMPs...But this isn't about me demeaning you Support users(I mean the game has been out 11 months, you can't even attempt to get Assault streaks or use Specialists?)

Use Predator, Reaper, Osprey Gunner and make sure to have Recon Pro and Hardline Pro together to make getting it a lot easier. When the enemy isn't Stinger crazed or if you have a team rushing them as they try to shoot you down OR if you know spawns and just kill them before they lock on, it's actually pretty fun and beast. Without a lot of Stingers it is basically like the Chopper Gunner in MW2 back in the first few months of release PLUS Emergency Airdrop

Osprey is beast. My highest kills in it was 25 and if you get even 20 seconds in it you can get 7+ kills easily. Best Care Packages it dropped was : Pavelow, Reaper, Assault Drone & Assault Juggernaut. Sadly like the Gunship in BO, the Osprey is a damn good killstreak but it's not worth earning such a high killstreak just to get shot down. In BO the Chopper+Dog combo was better. And on MW3 the AC-130 is better(even though it's worse than the MW2 version). If it was harder to shoot down, and the enemies didn't have spawn protection(even though their Stingers work immediately), and way too many buildings the Osprey Gunner would've made MW3 better.

I usually go for a Reaper, AC-130, Opsrey Gunner when I go for it, otherwise I run Heli, Reaper, AC.
It's pretty cool on certain maps but sucks when it gets dropped so fast.

Yeah but I got Pavelow and AC130 Gold titles awhile back, so thought I would switch it up. I never use Attack Heli on my bigger killstreak classes. Usually on my Pred, Attack Heli, Reaper classes.

Other issue is I pretty much never use Assassin so while I'm in my Reaper, somebody will have UAV and kill me every now and then. Which is annoying. Especially with how nooby UAV has become.

assault in general is a joke lol, i turned it on last week for the first time since the first week of mw3, and was going 40-50/5-10 almost every game of solo kill confirmed with like 20 kills, 30 at most going to my gun, also made it much easier to win solo games against parties compared to using specialist, and is much easier to turn around a bad game as one set of killstreaks can turn your 20-10 game into a 40-10.

i tried the osprey for about 2 games, it was actually pretty easy to get, the reaper alone puts you pretty close if not to it, but they got shot down in both games almost instantly, so i just went back to pavelow/ac130, i guess people are more inclined to shoot at a giant plane lol

True. I love Assault obviously because it has been a fixture of COD especially since MW2.

I look at MW3 like this:

Assault the most fun/dominating strike package.
Specialist the most rewarding, skillful strike package.
Support for people who are terrible at the game

i wish i was still good enough to use specialist and get nukes all the time lol

The reaper is better then Osprey Gunner because you will likely get more kills with it.
But I love running Predator, Attack helicopter, Pave low.

got a couple of osprey gunners but like you stated. They get shot down way to quick. But if left in the air in can do damage in maps like Dome, Village, Mission. Can't stand the maps with all the buildings.

I think I would use it way more if we could atleast get a good title for it. But like always IW half ass everything.

I'd say the Reaper is pound for pound best killstreak in MW3. It is my favorite overall as well. However, IF left in the air more than 10-20 seconds the Osprey Gunner is beast especially for the care packages.

Pavelow is great if not shot down as well since you can still get kills and watch it dominate. AC 130 isn't as good as Pavelow but it is more effective. So the minute I see those noobs who can't kill but shoot things down I just go with Pred, Reaper, AC130 as opposed to Pavelow or Osprey. Reaper is great though because it is a killstreak that pretty much guarantees you an AC130 or Pavelow.
