So the next day when I heard there was an update, I downloaded the patch and when it tried to install an error had occurred. So now every time I try to play MW3 (even with no game data/saves on my PS3) it gives me this error every time. I really want to know why it is doing this and how I could fix it. And as far as what I have tried, I have tried formatting my whole PS3 and putting it back to OFW then to CFW again and tried playing the game. I have tried installing all the separate patches up to but not installing the newest patch that came out. Nothing worked.

You could try going to cfw 4.21 that may work..or even 4.30 cfw

but the eboot xp lobby patches dont work on 4.21/4.30 ^^

EDIT: you have a disc inserted?? and you patched your game to work with 3.55??

You need to install a 3.55 fixed Eboot |:|
Whether it is an xp lobby or not. It must be signed for 3.55 use. A simple spoofer will not work sadly. You can find many tutorials on here to help.

It WAS working tho. I was using that spoofer and the game had started fine...just when I updated from a hacked patch to a official patch it did something so now the game wont even start or find any updates...

I have also just tried updating Black Ops and now Black Ops is doing the same thing and not starting up :/

Yes u updated, so its no longer got the 3.55 signed EBOOT, replace the eboot with a 3.55 signed one in Mw3 hacks and exploits.

But wouldn't all the EBOOT's get deleted when I format my PS3? Cause that's what I did and it still won't work.

Thanks to all of you for responding, I got it to work I guess I just didn't understand how not having any game data on the PS3 would still cause it to not work...but I just reinstalled a hacked patch then switched the EBOOT so now it works xD Thanks dee_slf ...I guess I was just being stupid lol.

Yes they do...You can fix them to work with them with the eboot resigner...
