There is no Breslau, Germany. Instead there is a Breslau, Poland. It is also called Wrocław, but in German it means Breslau.

In 1945, there was a Seige of Breslau. It took place from February 13th, 1945 to May 6th, 1945. The Lower Silesian Offensive Operation was an operation from Russian generals to encircle Breslau.

On February 15th, the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) had an airlift to destroy Breslau.

There was heavy artillery fire from both sides. The siege lasted 2 months. On May 6th, the German surrendered at Breslau, followed by the surrender of all German forces the next day.
