Call of Duty: World at War ran into a rough patch with fans when it was announced earlier this year (200. Initially, the return to World War II seemed like a step back for the franchise after the success of Call of Duty 4. World at War is showing some serious promise as being a true successor to CoD 4, but it must past the multiplayer test that made CoD 4 so popular.
Activision is giving players the chance to participate in multiplayer betas for World at War on the Xbox 360 and PC. This beta will give lucky participants the chance to get a leg up on the environments and gameplay in preparation for the games November 11, 2008, release.
There are a few of ways to get in on the beta. You can register at the official COD website, pre-order the game at any GameStop in North America or pre-order the game at GameStop’s website.
GameStop is also offering “Day-One Access” to the in-game M1A1 Carbine Assault Rifle in addition to the beta invite. The code for the weapon will be given out the day of release
