(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Alright, i need help from people who are good with networking. I couldn't seem to find the answer anywhere, so I thought I'd ask here.

I want to have two routers, one branching from another, but i don't know whether or not that would work. Here's what i mean:

You must login or register to view this content.

so yeah, will it work, or will there be problems connection to the internet if the WAN port in on the second router is connected to the LAN port out on the first router?

It will most likely work but the interwebz on the secondary router will most likely be slow causing your gaybox and Leetstation 3 to lag

Can you get an ethernet cable going from the first router to the second router?

ya, the second router would be going in my basement along with my ps3 and xbox. i currently have one ethernet cable running down there from my router/modem upstairs which i use for both (and it gets pretty annoying having to unplug and plug in everytime i want to use the other system. also, i wanted to put my lag switch before a router, to give me a few more seconds.

Ok, well I guess you could try to run an ethernet cable from the first router to the other one. Or (if possible) have an ethernet cable from the interwebz to the router.

To connect the routers together you'll either need to use a crossover ethernet cable or use the uplink port on one of the routers. Also, some newer routers may be auto-sensing and not require the use of an uplink port or crossover cable.
