did you buy it? if you did, did you get it off steam? Make sure you click refresh to pull up servers and make sure its on internet.

considering the amount of people that have downloaded this game illegally, im going to go ahead and presume that you have done the same; you can join games by downloading a server program entitled: You must login or register to view this content. Follow that link and download the client.

Once you have done that, you can sign up for the server and boot up the client. You will see a call of duty symbol with lots of rooms, select the one you wish and start up the game using the tab in the client. If instead of booting into a game the computer comes up saying that you were banned from the server, you will not be able to play because of the restricted files that you have downloaded.

Infact, you will be able to play if you downloaded the game from steam or bought it from the stores.

what does that have to do with patching?

if you dont know how to patch a game then you obviously dont know if you can run it :derp:

go on google and search for cod 4 patches....download patches 1.2 to 1.7 and install them all...if you dont then you cant play the game
