Post: How do I connect my computer to my TV? To use my TV as the moniter?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am having a little trouble figuring out what I need to connect my computer to my TV. My computer doesn't have VGA, DVI, S-Video, HDMI ports on it. All it has is usb and headphone and mic. My TV has VGA, HDMI, S-video and everything but my computer doesn't so I am not sure what cable I need. Any ideas how I can do it? And good quality? I think I need some sort of adapter, I know they have USB to HDMI and VGA to USB and all that but those converters are really expensive and want to make sure thats the only way before I would get one. (I also have a external TV tuner which I can view my TVs display on my computer but dont know how to view the computer on the TV which is what I want.)

S-video cable.

Oh and all computers come with VGA.. its how you hook the monitor up.. Just saying a USB to HDMI is well worth the investment if you want it as a perm replacement for your monitor. I use it on my laptop.

My computer doesn't have S-video port so how would I use S-video? My computer doesn't have VGA since the CPU is built into the monitor I guess. So if I get a hdmi to usb I would be able to connect it to my computer with a usb then I would need to hook a hdmi cable to that and then to the TV? What kind do you have? Good quality?

It may help if you tell us what type of computer you have, because you're lacking all the standard stuff a normal PC should have since you're using some sort of all in one monitor system. That said, if you're PC has a HDMI port then you may be able to get away with connecting it to the TV with HDMI, unless your TV has no HDMI port.

Computer is a Gateway One, it doesn't have HDMI ports. My TV does though.

Then I believe your only hope is to find a decent USB to HDMI converter.

Here's an idea of what it is;

Not endorsing this product, just giving you an idea of what is probably you're only hope.

I mainly want to use it for watching movies from my PC on my TV. Do you know if that would be laggy since its usb? I kind of think it would be. Also they have VGA to usb if that would be any better but HDMI would probably be as good as it gets for me. :(

If you are worried about lag then USB to VGA may be better, but the quality wouldn't be as good. I'd try a very cheap USB/HDMI converter first.
