(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Bought a £700 Dell Inspiron two days ago and today I was just browsing and the screen suddenly froze, then it just blacked out. Restarted and then an hour later same thing happened again. I turned it back on with safe mode this time and then I couldnt use the mouse or keyboard. Tried resetting, taking the battery out, taking the power out, waiting an hour, nothing. I managed to use the keyboard ONCE in that time but stupidly I just tried restarting it after I got in and then the same thing happened again.

Tried plugging in a new mouse but still the cursor wont move.

Taking it back tomorrow but I kinda want to delete all my saved passwords, history, favourites etc before that. Any ideas on how I can get the keyboard to work? I dont have a USB one anywhere.... and dont want to buy one.

ALso considering whether to get a different laptop. It would have to be an i5 though which is a step down from the i7 the Dell is, also the Dell has a 525M graphics card, which the other option doesnt have... So would suck to have to exchange it but Im worried that Inspirons have a bad history and stuff like this will happen again, after the 21 day period when I can take it back.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

well i would take your computer apart i mamnged to do it with nothing but an electical screwdriver set and then get an internal to external hardrive set snd you can keep your data however i would also advise asking some1 in store about how data protection and data sloss is handled
