(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Basically I got a Dell Optiplex Gx280 for free, I got 5 GB of physical ram installed. A 500GB HDD, dual core, and great video cards (intel, and nvidia) idk bout exact. but anyway I have windows 7 ultimate activated (32 bit). I want to have aero activated for it, because it looks awesome. I cant get it because I need a system rating before I can activate aero, but when I do it gives me this error.

C:\windows\system32\wmvxencd.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error.

I honestly dont know what to do because I just fresh installed it. Its giving me that error so I cant run aero. I have the requirements for aero just cant without the system assessment. I have already tried the registry key thing, where you have to force activate it. That did not work, so at this point, I was wondering if anyone had this error, or if there is a download for a working one or something?

I would hate to not use aero on this great machine its so fast and nice!

Man of Steel
It lives, my 360 is back
If you boot into "safe mode with command prompt" you should be able to do the command "sfc /scannow" (without quotations).

It should scan your files, detect that file has a problem and fix it. If not, try downloading the file from somewhere and replacing it.
