(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My computer has been going slow recently for no reason. I did a Health report and the only problem that I didn't understand was "The average disk queue length is 1. The disk may be at its maximum transfer capacity due to throughput and disk seeks" and there is a red flag next to it.

Other Stuff you should know:
-I am running Vista
-Defragged it a couple weeks ago
-I use 360GB of 500GB but 200GB of that is movies so they shouldn't slow it down right?
-I've already made start up program changes using "msconfig"

What does this error message mean and what should I do to both fix the error and speed up my pc? Other than restoring my PC to factory setting which will delete everything.

Help me and I rep you :fa:

What is the specs on your computer. Wondering if your RAM is having trouble sorting through all that memory on your computer and is getting stuck. I know if you don't have the ram needed for large amounts of data you will experience slow downs since the ram is having to move on through everything.

Just my two cents.

Do you have a single drive or are you using a raid setup? If single, see below:

I would first attempt to update your drivers (chipset) from the manufacturers website. If you don't know the brand, open up your tower and look.

If updating the drivers does not solve the issue, see below.

I am assuming your drive(s) are not SSD based on the size. That being said, what RPM is the drive? If its older, it is most likely 4200, 5400. Try upgrading to 7200+ RPM drive, or SSD (This is extremely expensive).
