(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello there, well I have an old PC monitor and it only has a VGA output. The power supply part of it has 2 cables, one to go into the socket of and one to go into the back of the actual desktop. I'm thinking about using this Monitor with my laptop, but does it need to be connected to the socket AND into the desktop in order to work?

Thanks,

There should be a plug that plugs into the wall for the power, and then a VGA cable that plugs into the back of a desktop tower's graphics card.

If your laptop has a VGA slot, then all you have to do is plug the VGA cable from the monitor into the slot, and then the monitor's power plug into the wall. Then turn on the monitor, and there you go. Upside Down Happy

Thank you, you answered it completely how I wanted Happy I thought it would have to be pluged into the tower, wall and the VGA output into my laptop to work but it turns out not Smile
