I have been at this for a week now so I was hoping you guys could help me. I am running Ubuntu, but want to go to xp. Theres just one problem.. MY CD/DVD drive just broke.. I had several CDs with XP and windows 7 on them, but forget them. I need to find a way to get from Ubuntu to Windows XP with no CD drive. I do, however have a 1.3 gb flash drive (thats how i got ubuntu on to his computer in hopes of switching right to windows.) I have tried MULTIPLE mounting programs, scripts, codes.. nothing seems to work. When the XP setup starts, it says it cannot find a valid partition. What i need is a program of some sort that works like usb-creator, but it lets me make a bootable flash drive with XP (all i can find are programs that let me make a bootable flash drive to install linux). If you plan on helping me, keep in mind, I have NO CD/DVD drive, so if i l\delete ubuntu, i will have NO OPERATING SYSTEM. If you can find a way to make my computer boot from the .iso by selecting from the bios, I think this will work. Any questions you need to know, ask. I REALLY am sick of Ubuntu and want windows back. Also, I have a windows 7 iso avalible too. If you can help me I will be very happy.

Is there a reason why you don't want to just solve your problem easily by purchasing a new CD/DVD drive?

And why would you ever want to get rid of Linux? I could see wanting to lose Ubuntu, but if you try out something like Linux Mint, Debian, Gentoo, or Fedora, I really don't see why you'd ever want to go back to Windows.
