(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey there, i was wondering if there is anyone here who uses Unity4 daily and could help me code C# the problem im having is that i can read the code, but if i want to code something, i wouldnt really know where to begin, so far ive been self teaching myself by watching tutorials on youtube but i only copy code and wouldnt know how to replicate it if i had to redo it from scratch without help, im hoping to get a small team together so that we can create small games and eventually make bigger games as we progress but right now im struggling to create even simple games, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading and for any help provided! Smile

i see your problem. but here are a few tips. look into actually learning to code by yourself.
or else no one will want to work with you. why? because no one wants to go into making something and having to carry someone else.

second if you can't make games in unity4 use a different library perhaps a simple one and maybe not even use c# use gamemaker i used that it helped me learn some stuff about game developing and i now work on games in xna not very good but still working. one thing i learned from a guy named tommy refenes the main developer and coder of super meat boy is that when starting out don't worry about what language or library of tools to use. worry about getting something on the screen. do that and it will satisfy you then move up from there.

third don't lose hope. make sure you try your damnedest to learn everything and make the best game you can create. it's not about making a big huge blockbuster game it's about your own personal satisfaction if you make a game that you like. then fuck everyone else.

also since your using c# i would recommend using xna and following this tutorial You must login or register to view this content.

it helped me when i was wanting to learn c# game programming. but anyway you have to actually try is my main point.

also one more thing during these videos you watch on c# or whatever you do take notes because it will help you in the end.

Unity is scripting not programming. Just because you know how to program doesn't help you all too much with Unity, you will just have a better ability to pick up on how to use your language with Unity.

OP, I have a book that I am starting to go through; along with life, learning C++, managing websites, and developing my game's map + game structure, learning the scripting part of Unity is what I am trying to learn too.

There is a book that I got that is great and should help you. PM me if you want it.
