mySQL addon for visual studio 2010. I am coding in C# and it will not connect to any database's. Would it be their security? Because no one else has had this problem, i have re created 4 database's and it wont connect to any, i have also tried 3 different web hosts, 2 free and one was a paid one. Still fail.

Did you download the MYSQL DLL and then add it through c# in the extensions?

Yeh it is all working, and connects to my offline, localhost server (not SQL server 2008 ) i think web hosts have security or something, stopping non local connections to their sql? I don't know. It is frustrating as.

Yes they do have that, however, there is a category in a cpanel (if you're using one) which will allow you to set it up to where you can allow your ip.

Thanks guys i will suss it out. For testing i am using 000webhosting, until i understand C# fully and can actually make decent projects, not youtube viewers.

Sounds stupid but you mean permissions right? for certain ip's etc.

EDIT: found .htaccess, but how will i let multiple programs connect to it securely? instead of allowing/adding ip addresses.
