I know it not my modem nor provider because it connects perfectly to my ps3 (wired) By some supernatural event, IE opened and diagnosed that it was not detecting a network card driver or something to that extent and when i checked device manager , there was no 'network adapters' . I used the 'add new hardware' option to install what i would assume to be a network adapter 'microsoft loopback adapter' and it was then a network adapter tab opened. I have tried system restore with no luck, i have downloaded numerous drivers from the official website which should be working but it doesnt show up when i try the update driver option nor does it show independently under network adapters so idk wdf the driver's exe installed. You should call the Internet Service Provider and they should help with this kind of stuff.

Have you tried using a ethernet cable?

Download DriverScanner by UniBlue, it downloads the required driver for you.

Give your router a hard reset, ut pin or something in little hole on back and hold for 20 secs then release. Usally a orange light on router port is bad ethernet cable try changing to another port with another ethernet cable.
