Post: Hd7670m [overclocking problem]

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey people. I've been trying to overclock my HD7670M for the past 3 days. I saw people getting stable 875ghz on core & 1000+ memory, i don't even know how that's possible... every time i put my core speed at 770+, it will freeze my laptop. Also, when i OC my card to 770core & 960memory, i will be stable while running benchmarks and surfing the web. But as soon as i start gaming for a few minures, it will just make my screen go colourful and full of vertical lines. PLEASE HELP ME.

First thing's first, what temperatures are you getting? Laptop GPUs usually aren't sufficiently cooled enough for overclocking. You may have confused desktop overclocking results with that of your mobile graphics card.

My guess would be that the temps got too high and you got some artifacts as a result. If that's the case then you may have permanently damaged your GPU.

I would stay far far away from laptop over clocking they have terrible cooling and adding extra heat makes it even worse

My temp's don't get any higher than 61 celcius.

Come on man, i ain't interested in all that crap. Bro, my temps don't go further than 60c (when overclocked). Please, do you have a solution to my problem?

You most likely damaged the graphics card and crap??? I told you from the start on another thread not to over clock laptops 60c is high

Wait, really? I've heard that GPU''s shouldn't go above 80ish c... Also, i have no problems playing while in normal clocks, it indicats that there is no damage done...

A Desktop GPU going 80+ degrees is normal when gaming because it has much more space to disperse heat, but on a Laptop where every single component is tightly packed together and all you have is at most 2 little 2-3 inch vents to disperse heat, it's not worth the risk overclocking a mobile GPU.

I get much more gaming performance when overclocked. Minecraft with Ether's amazing shaders give me 13 FPS with normal clocks & 30FPS OC'd.... Would be nice if my friggin GPU didn't crash while playing BF3 OC'd.

Is that idle or under load? Here's an idea so we can settle this query. Download Furmark and stress test your GPU. Report back how hot it is after say 15 minutes. Keep an eye on the temps though - if they start to stray north of 75-80c then close Furmark immediately.
